Alexander Salkind was a Polish-American film producer.
Salkind purchased the film rights to DC Comics Superman character at the behest of his son Ilya and produced 1978's Superman starring Christopher Reeve and its sequels Superman II, Superman III and spinoff film Supergirl. In 1985, DC Comics named Salkind as one of the honorees in the company's 50th anniversary publication Fifty Who Made DC Great for his work on the Superman film franchise.
