Metropolis is a large city located in the United States of America within New York State. It is home to the headquarters of the Daily Planet newspaper.

Clark Kent moved to Metropolis to work as a reporter at the Daily Planet after coming of age and learning of his true ancestry at the Fortress of Solitude. He used his cover as a reporter to go about his duties as Superman. Much of the city was damaged after Lex Luthor led General Zod, Non and Ursa to the Daily Planet to confront Superman.
